Mission, Values Statement
Kenosha Junior Woman’s Club (KJWC) is a
non-profit women’s organization dedicated to community improvement
by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer services. KJWC
provides an opportunity to:
-
Take an active role in the community
-
Serve as a volunteer for worthwhile
causes
-
Realize achievement as a group
-
Improve community life
-
Meet new friends and enjoy
fellowship
-
Develop personally and
professionally
Our charitable works include
fundraising, community projects, recognition for community service
and social events.
Our major fundraising event is known as
“Taste of Elegance”.
This fun event showcases area
restaurants who bring forth their culinary specialties. In addition
to an auction, sponsored by various businesses within Kenosha
County, these fun activities are accompanied by great local
musicians and good friends making this an extraordinary evening.
Proceeds from this event, as well as
other fundraising activities throughout the year, are awarded each
year to our selected charity and to two local Kenosha County high
school seniors.

Together we work to make a difference to Kenosha and our community!

This year, KJWC charitable recipient is Kenosha Visiting Nurse
Association. The KVNA has been trusted to care for the families in
our community since 1927. A program that began with one nurse,
today employs a staff of 55 and provides skilled nursing, home
health aides, corporate and community health screens, flu and
pneumonia immunizations, foot care clinics, correctional health and
home medical equipment.
The role of Kenosha Visiting Nurse Association is more important
than ever as patients spend less time in the hospital, the
population continues to age and the demand for home health care
increases. KVNA provides care to individuals regardless of age,
illness or ability to pay. As a nonprofit organization, KVNA relies
on the support of individuals and corporations in the community to
continue its long time tradition of care. The Kenosha Junior
Woman’s Club is pleased to support this worthwhile organization
with our fundraising efforts in
2005-2006. If you would like to learn more about KVNA, visit their
website at
www.KVNA.net.
Our primary fundraising activities recognize two Kenosha County high
school seniors with Scholarship monies to be used toward their
continuing education. Each year, over 100 students apply for these
funds and we are pleased to say that this year, in addition to our
two primary recipients, we have been able to offer smaller
scholarship funds to three additional applicants. If you would like
to learn more about our scholarships activities, please visit the
fundraising section of this website. |
